Reporters learned from the Licheng District Bureau of Commerce that the 2026 Licheng Summer Shopping Carnival, themed "Enjoy Summer Fun in Licheng", is now underway. A core highlight of this seasonal campaign is the newly released Licheng Culinary Pass, with 600 free quotas open to local residents and out-of-town tourists.

As the historic heart of Quanzhou Ancient City and Quanzhou's primary culinary hub under the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy designation, Licheng's lanes and alleys feature abundant classic nostalgic Minnan dishes, such as vermicelli paste, ginger duck and stone flower jelly dessert alongside Quanzhou beef soup. The all-in-one Licheng Culinary Pass works as a culinary trail guide and stamp-collection booklet bundled with discount offers. It includes unrestricted general consumption vouchers and exclusive merchant coupons valid from July 11 to August 30, 2026.

A total of 600 free pass quotas are available for the event. Eligible applicants can claim physical culinary passes at the Sri Lanka Cultural Pavilion (No. 373 Zhongshan Road, Licheng) between July 11 and July 12. During the campaign period, pass holders may collect stamps by completing designated food trail activities. Visitors who gather stamps from ten participating shops can redeem a cultural and creative souvenir. Four types of check-in activities are available: dining at time-honored eateries, food spot photography, interactive trivia games and social media content sharing. Detailed participation rules are printed inside each pass. For online activities, the official campaign topic Licheng Food Tour Challenge remains live until August 30. Content creators whose posts rank among the Top 5 entries under this campaign hashtag on Xiaohongshu and Douyin with over 50 likes will each receive a 200 RMB prize.

Apart from the culinary pass programme, the carnival also hosts food check-in competitions, mini sharing sessions at heritage catering shops and a short-video series titled "New Generation Voices", alongside various merchant promotions. All consumer promotional activities will run until August 30. Organizers noted that the culinary pass serves as an integrated platform to coordinate promotion of time-honored brands and ancient city sightseeing while driving consumption growth. It allows visitors to experience the distinctive charm of UNESCO World Heritage Quanzhou while tasting local food, and further helps boost summer tourism and consumer spending.
