On May 21, the city of Quanzhou hosted a vibrant series of cultural and culinary events under the theme "A Taste Beyond Borders, A Symphony of Cultures", in celebration of the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. The events highlighted Quanzhou's commitment to fostering intercultural understanding through gastronomy and creative expression. Mr. Cai Tianshou, Standing Committee Member of the Quanzhou Municipal Party Committee and Director of the city's "City of Gastronomy" bid committee office, attended the celebration.

The programme convened cultural experts, renowned chefs, scholars, and industry leaders to explore how food can serve as a universal language to connect communities and celebrate shared heritage. A key moment was the second donation ceremony to the Quanzhou Culinary Museum, where five donors were recognised for their contributions. The museum's collection has now grown to over 150 artefacts showcasing local culinary history.
In support of innovation and education, Quanzhou also announced the launch of its Digital Culinary Education Platform and unveiled the Quanzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Food Database, part of the broader Minnan Cultural Eco-Protection Zone initiative.
The event further featured the official appointment of members to two professional committees—the Culinary Culture Research Committee and the Master Chefs Committee—under the Quanzhou Culinary Industry Promotion Association. A creative food culture salon encouraged interactive dialogue on gastronomy, culture, and digital transformation.
