43 Elderly Dining Halls Established in Jinjiang, Serving Over 4,000 People Daily
Time: 2024-11-13 19:47

In recent years, Jinjiang has placed significant emphasis on elderly meal assistance service, expanding its "Elderly Dining Hall +" initiative. Currently, 43 dining halls have been established across the city, covering all towns and subdistricts, providing daily service to over 4,000 elderly residents. This was announced by Huang Yingyu, Deputy Director of the Jinjiang Civil Affairs Bureau, during a recent Mayor's Hotline session.

As part of Jinjiang's 2024 public service initiatives, each dining hall has received a construction subsidy of 300,000 RMB from the municipal government. In terms of daily operations, the city has adopted a model where local communities, charitable organisations, and the general public contribute towards the cost of providing meal service for elderly residents, ensuring they receive greater care and nutritional support.

Huang also highlighted that this year, the Jinjiang Civil Affairs Bureau has aligned with the national strategy to address population ageing. The city has introduced the province’s first county-level smart elderly care service platform, which provides a comprehensive service map, allowing seniors to access care at the touch of a button. Furthermore, Jinjiang has established two integrated elderly care facilities, 13 elderly dining halls, 12 home-based elderly care stations, and 425 home care beds, providing in-home service to 1,532 elderly individuals. Over 15 million RMB in subsidies for seniors has also been distributed.
