On 3 August, the boutique micro-drama "The Fateful Encounter of the Flower Wreath Banquet" (《宴遇簪花缘》) premiered on iQIYI. It is the first food-themed cultural-tourism micro-drama launched after Quanzhou was named a UNESCO "City of Gastronomy". The accomplished actress Sun Qian, known for classic works such as "Empresses in the Palace" and "The Legend of Mi Yue", makes a special appearance as a representative inheritor of the zanhua (flower-wreath) intangible heritage, lending the series solid cultural texture. Xing Zeyang and Xia Shuo lead the cast, with Guo Ruohan and Xie Lei in major roles.

"The Fateful Encounter of the Flower Wreath Banquet" is produced under the guidance of the Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Fujian Provincial Radio and Television Administration, the Fujian Provincial Culture and Tourism Promotion Association, the Quanzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, and the People's Government of Fengze District, Quanzhou. It is co-produced by Quanzhou Fengze State-Owned Investment Group Co., Ltd., Quanzhou Fengze Maritime Silk Road Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd., and Fujian Zizai Entertainment Culture Media Co., Ltd. Ye Lianjun and Zhu Weijie serve as producers, Gao Jianning as chief planner, Liu Zhe as chief producer, and Zhang Zihao as director, conveying through natural and lively performances the craftsmanship spirit of young people carrying forward their local culture.
The whole series takes "food-rooted storytelling" as its theme, telling the youthful story of Xu Xiaoyu, a kindergarten teacher in the business district of Fengze District, Quanzhou, and Zhou Chengze, the owner of the Yingfeng Restaurant, who are brought together by food and join forces to visit Xunpu Village in search of inspiration and jointly develop the "Flower Wreath Banquet". It both suits the aesthetics of young viewers and the characteristics of short-video dissemination, and is grounded in Quanzhou's profound cultural heritage, striking a balance between entertainment and culture. With its innovative narrative of "intangible heritage as the soul, food as the backbone, and love as the thread", it vividly presents the cultural charm of Quanzhou as a World Heritage city. In terms of production, the series was filmed entirely on location at Quanzhou landmarks including Xunpu Village, Zhenwu Temple and Fisherman's Wharf, with oyster-shell houses, zanhua wreaths and the everyday bustle of old streets and lanes naturally entering the frame.
After its launch, the micro-drama will simultaneously plan offline conversion, linking local merchants with the series to build an industry loop of "generating online buzz, driving in-person visits, and increasing revenue through multiple channels". The theme song, "Fireworks of the Flower Wreath Banquet" (《簪花宴的烟火》), is performed by Fujian-born singer Yu You and was released on platforms including KuGou Music on the day of the premiere.
