"2025 Quanzhou Maritime Silk Road International Gastronomy Carnival Opens with Global Flavors"

  Quanzhou Net, August 16 (Reporter Yin Siqi)– On August 15, the "2025 Quanzhou · Maritime Silk Road Cuisine International Food Carnival" launched at the Xunpu Zanhua Li Cultural and Tourism Market in Quanzhou. This three-day culinary celebration brings together specialty foods from Belt and Road partner countries and traditional Quanzhou snacks, creating an immersive cultural and dining experience. With over 80 booths and more than 200 distinctive delicacies, the event aims to boost integrated cultural, tourism, and culinary consumption while supporting catering businesses in exploring new growth opportunities through cross-cultural exchange

  The carnival is thoughtfully organized into four themed sections, each offering a unique perspective on regional and international flavors:

  Belt & Road Gastronomy Exchange: This zone features specialty snacks from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, forming an aromatic "Silk Road Food Corridor" that allows visitors to savor global tastes without leaving Quanzhou

  Cultural Heritage Experience: Time-honored Chinese brands and intangible cultural heritage foods are showcased here, offering insights into the evolution of traditional techniques and the resilience of heritage brands

  Quanzhou Local Delicacies: This section highlights traditional Minnan snacks such as Shihua Gao(herbal jelly), beef soup, jiangmuya(braised duck with ginger), oyster omelets, and tusundong(seafood jelly). Live demonstrations by inheritors of food-related intangible cultural heritage enhance the appreciation of Quanzhou's culinary traditions

  Innovative Food Trends: Designed to appeal to younger audiences, this area includes trendy offerings like viral coffees, creative tea drinks, and molecular gastronomy, reflecting the dynamic innovation within the food industry

  The event serves as a bridge connecting food culture, tourism, and social interaction. Activities such as the "Romantic Aesthetics Time," "Feast of Fireworks," "Trendy Party Carnival," and "Citong Food Luck Stamp Collection" engage visitors in immersive experiences. Beyond providing a platform for culinary enterprises to exhibit and collaborate, the carnival underscores Quanzhou's openness and vibrancy, offering fresh perspectives for the creative modernization and global promotion of traditional foods.

  Organized by the World Federation of Chinese Catering Industry and Quanzhou Cultural Tourism Group, the event is supported by the Fujian Provincial Catering and Cooking Industry Association, Quanzhou Food Industry Promotion Association, Quanzhou Food Economy Research Base, and Quanzhou Kaiyuan Shengda Industrial Development Co., Ltd .
