Quanzhou Culinary Delegation Visits Macao for the "2025 Macao International City of Gastronomy Carnival"

  On July 11, the Macao Government Tourism Office launched the "2025 Macao International City of Gastronomy Carnival" at the Macao Fisherman's Wharf. With the theme "Spices and Herbs," the event brought together representatives from 35 UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy across 22 countries and six continents, creating a 10-day global culinary celebration. Highlights of the carnival included the International Gastronomy Avenue, Culinary Showcases from Cities of Gastronomy, and the Macao International Gastronomy Forum, all showcasing Macao's unique cultural appeal and its growing role as a platform for international exchange.

  Representing Quanzhou, the delegation included He Yibin, Deputy Director of the Quanzhou Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism and Executive Deputy Director of the Quanzhou City of Gastronomy Application Office; Huang Xueling, Deputy Director of the Quanzhou Municipal Party Committee and Government Reception Office and also Executive Deputy Director of the City of Gastronomy Application Office; along with expert advisors Zeng Guoheng and Chen Rixing, and representatives from the Quanzhou Culinary Industry Promotion Association. The group visited the International Gastronomy Avenue for site inspection and professional exchange.

  The International Gastronomy Avenue featured 105 booths presented by 15 Cities of Gastronomy from around the world, with chefs from 29 such cities offering over 60 live cooking demonstrations. The Macao International Gastronomy Forum, themed "A Fragrant Life: Flavours of Macao," brought together 17 cross-disciplinary experts for two keynote speeches and three thematic discussions focused on the culinary significance of spices and herbs in global cuisines.
