Quanzhou, August 21 — On August 19, a specialised executive training program for senior managers of Quanzhou's star-rated hotels officially commenced. The initiative is jointly organised by Quanzhou Normal University and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a world-renowned leader in hospitality education, with the participation of 40 hotel general managers from across the city.

The program responds directly to the rapid transformation of China's cultural tourism sector and the growing demand for innovation within Quanzhou's high-end hospitality industry. It features a teaching team composed of leading scholars from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University alongside senior domestic experts. Designed around the principle of "theory as foundation, practice as empowerment," the curriculum covers strategic hotel development, group-level management, quality assurance, and sustainable operations. Cutting-edge modules such as Artificial Intelligence in the Hotel Industry provide participants with insights into emerging global trends, while study visits to leading hotels and new cultural landmarks in Hong Kong offer practical exposure to advanced management practices and business models.

This marks Quanzhou's first collaboration with an internationally top-ranked university to deliver a specialised training program for hospitality executives—an innovative step towards professionalising talent development in the sector. It represents a milestone in strengthening the city's capacity to serve international visitors and aligns with Quanzhou's ambition to position itself as "a leading destination on the Maritime Silk Routes, celebrated for its cultural diversity".

Looking ahead, Quanzhou's cultural and tourism authorities plan to further expand training pathways by fostering closer integration between industry and education, enhancing service skills programs, and building a sustainable talent ecosystem. These efforts aim to consolidate a highly skilled workforce capable of driving the city's cultural tourism industry forward while contributing to China's broader goals of enhancing cultural vitality and global engagement.
