Second Round of the "Fujian: A Feast for the Senses" Subsidy Initiative Now Open

QUANZHOU, China, 3 December (Quanzhou Online) — The application period for the second round of Phase II of the "Fujian: A Feast for the Senses" dining voucher programme officially opened on 1 December, according to the Quanzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau. This round makes available a total of 15 million yuan (approximately USD 2.1 million) in dining subsidies. Vouchers will be distributed through an online application and lottery system, with applications accepted until 24:00 on 7 December.

The vouchers are issued in three denominations, catering to different dining occasions:

·100 yuan off a minimum spend of 300 yuan

·180 yuan off a minimum spend of 500 yuan

·300 yuan off a minimum spend of 800 yuan

The scheme is designed to accommodate individual diners, family meals, and group gatherings. It is open to all consumers using mobile devices within Fujian Province, including both residents and visitors travelling or on business.

Applications can be submitted via the UnionPay, Alipay, and WeChat apps by searching for "福建有口福" ("Fujian: A Feast for the Senses"). Each user may apply once per platform. Voucher recipients will be selected by lottery, with successful applicants receiving vouchers directly in their app accounts. Vouchers may be redeemed from 11 December until 24:00 on 21 December, after which any unused vouchers will expire.

For participating businesses, merchant registration remains open until 24:00 on 8 January 2026 through the official Fujian Province Service Voucher Public Service Platform, or via the "Government Consumption Vouchers" section within the UnionPay app.

The subsidy initiative comes amid strong momentum in Quanzhou's culinary sector. The city was designated a UNESCO City of Gastronomy in October 2025, further elevating its national and international profile. Last month, the 2026 Fujian Michelin Guide recognised 18 Quanzhou restaurants, including one one-star establishment (Qing You Yu), 13 Bib Gourmand selections, and four Michelin-listed restaurants. Ant's Private Kitchen also received the province's sole Michelin service award.

Quanzhou's food industry currently encompasses approximately 150,000 market entities, generating an annual output value exceeding 150 billion yuan. Flagship initiatives such as the "One County, One Signature Feast" campaign have demonstrated strong market appeal. Most recently, the four-day "Chinese Culinary Showcase: 2025 China (Quanzhou) Maritime Silk Road International Food Week and the 2nd China (Quanzhou) Silk Road Street Food Carnival" attracted more than 570,000 visits, with daily attendance peaking at over 200,000.

An official from the Municipal Commerce Bureau noted that the new round of dining vouchers is expected to further stimulate local consumption and inject fresh momentum into Quanzhou's continued development as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy.

More broadly, Fujian Province has earmarked 40 million yuan for Phase II of the "Fujian: A Feast for the Senses" dining voucher programme, running from November 2025 to January 2026 (excluding Xiamen). Implemented in three rounds, the initiative aims to sustain and strengthen the vitality of the province's offline dining economy.
