Southeast Net, 14 June – (Correspondent: Xiang Huihui) On 14 June, China's first pilot youth education experience centre for food safety and nutrition health officially opened in Quanzhou.

The "Hand in Hand with the Future" youth food safety and nutrition health education initiative is organised by the China Children and Teenagers' Development Service Centre and the China Youth Palace Association, with support from the China Youth Development Cultural Exchange Centre, the Youth and Community Work Department of the China Youth Palace Association, and the Food Safety Online Network. The initiative is co-sponsored by Yum China.

The experience centre is hosted within a KFC restaurant, featuring a food safety corridor and interactive activity zones. The food safety corridor showcases educational content on food safety and nutrition health, including common food safety risks, myth-busting information, the healthy diet plate, and catchy rhymes to promote health awareness. The goal is to educate the public about food safety and nutrition while encouraging healthier lifestyle habits.

In the interactive zones, activities such as the dietary pyramid, Happy Farm, packaging label puzzles, and a fruit-and-vegetable board game are designed to engage children through fun games. These activities teach the importance of balanced diets and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Following its inauguration, the centre will actively serve Quanzhou's youth and their parents by hosting themed interactive activities tailored to current topics. It aims to explore innovative approaches to food safety and nutrition education by integrating learning with fun and food.

Additionally, this year's "Hand in Hand with the Future" initiative will expand to ten cities nationwide, hosting events in schools and communities. The initiative seeks to establish a series of pilot youth food safety and nutrition health experience centres. These centres will provide regular hands-on educational activities, enabling youth to explore the origins of food ingredients, understand food processing and preparation, and learn about scientifically balanced diets.
